George Herbert Eaton, age 83, La Cygne, Kansas passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021. He was born on April 18, 1938 in El Reno, Oklahoma. He graduated from El Reno High School and attended Johnson County Community College obtaining certification as an automobile mechanic. He was united in marriage to Connie Hampton on January 23, 1960. George was a member of the La Cygne Christian Church. His faith in God and Family were foremost in his life. He was a very patriotic gentleman. He was a man of many talents. He made jewelry, worked with leather, painted landscapes, enjoyed cooking, made his own wine and beer. He liked to water ski, was a big Oklahoma University fan, and was a musician, singing, and playing banjo and flute. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvern and Beatrice Bruce, a brother, Carl Eaton, and a sister, Mary Lackey. George is survived by his wife Connie, two daughters, Pamala Haupt and husband Mark, and Kristy Tatum, two brothers, Otis and Burl Bruce, a sister, Fran Eaton, five grandchildren, Jason Haupt and wife Alicia, Justin Haupt and wife Brianna, Michelle Haupt-McCool and husband Michael, Zach Tatum and Kaylee Tatum, and nine great grandchildren, Darci, Kelsee, Jeremiah, Brynnlea, Westin and Presley Haupt, and Hunter, Colton and Hallie McCool.
Memorial service will be 4 pm Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the La Cygne Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 3 pm to service time at the Church. Contributions are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project or the La Cygne Christian Church. The service will be live streamed at https://youtu.be/K8DrxsAmvA from the La Cygne Christian Church.
