Wilma Jeane Town, age 78, of Pleasanton, Kansas died Saturday March 7, 2009. She was born November 5, 1930 at Blue Jacket, Oklahoma the daughter of Robert Roy and Sadie Catherine Reavis Spence. She married Clifford Town on June 24, 1948. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2003. Together they owned and operated the Dairy Inn in Pleasanton. They later moved to Lenexa and finally retired to the farm near Pleasanton in 1985. It was on the farm that Wilma loved to garden and take care of the animals. She especially enjoyed working with the horses. Also preceding her in death was a sister Lois Lewis; one brother, Kenneth Spence and a great grandson William Wayne Anderson. She is survived by a son Larry Town and Debbie of Spring Hill, Kansas; two daughters, Nancy Turner of Lenexa, Kansas and Nadine Sanders & Bill of Lawton, Oklahoma; two brothers, Sherman Spence & Reta of Pleasanton and Forrest Spence of Boca Raton, Florida; one sister Julia Cook of Pleasanton; six grandchildren: Jared Turner, Andrea Town, Michael Town, NaRissa Anderson, Clifford Town and Evelyn Sanders; and five great grandchildren: Matthew Town, Cheyenne Town, Victoria Sanders, Loren Turner, and Autumn Turner. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Tuesday March 10, 2009 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel in Pleasanton, Kansas. Burial will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery. Family will gather to fellowship following the service at the Pleasanton Community Center. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 PM Monday at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home. The family suggests contributions to the Pleasanton Cemetery Association in care of Coffel-Schneider, P. O. Box 525, Pleasanton, Kansas 66075.
