Wilma Nelson

Wilma Jeanne Nelson, age 84, formerly of Amsterdam, Missouri died Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Presbyterian Manor in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born on November 5, 1928 at Kansas City, Kansas the daughter of Charles E. and Mary E. Koch Bowdre. She married George Nelson on November 26, 1948 he preceded her in death on May 21, 1991. Wilma was a member of the Amsterdam Baptist Church and the Butler senior citizens. Also preceding her in death are her parents, five brothers; Bob, Don, Charles, Elmer,Max Bowdre and three grandchildren. She is survived by two sons; George and Mark Nelson, six daughters; Mary Smith, Nancy Nelson, Donna McQueen, Kathy Henre, Georganna Romero and Cheryl Swift, three sisters; Velma, Della and Edna, 24 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Amsterdam Baptist Church in Amsterdam, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until service time at the church. Burial will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery, Pleasanton, Kansas. The family suggests contributions to Amsterdam Baptist Church and may be left in care of Schneider Funeral Home P.O.
