William "Kenneth" Troth, age 88, Pleasanton, Kansas passed away Tuesday January 7, 2014. He was born on July 14, 1925 in Linn County, Kansas the son of Walter Glenn and Pearl Esther Price Troth. He graduated from Mound City High School in the Class of 1944. He married Dorothy Baston on December 24, 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Phyllis Troth, three brothers: Cecil, W. G. and Earl Troth, and three sisters: Evelyn Wisbey, Alice Kerr, and Lillian Kerr. Kenneth worked as an auto mechanic for Woolston Chevrolet and later for Cox Motors. He was a member of the Pleasanton First Christian Church, sold fireworks with Dorothy for over fifty-five years, was a bus driver and score keeper for the Pleasanton School District, gathered aluminum cans to help support deceased daughter, Phyllis, Scholarship Fund, and collected tabs of cans. He tried to make the Guiness book of records with the number of tabs he collected, however, he received a letter from them stating there was no category for can tabs. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, son Michael Troth and wife Pauline, daughter Regina Ann Reed and husband Edwin, a brother Raimond Troth grandchildren Matthew Troth and wife Marissa, Melissa Bugni and husband Chad and Ashley and Haley Reed, and two great grandsons, Bryce Bugni and Aiden McElroy. Funeral service will be 10 :30 AM Friday January 10, 2014 at the Pleasanton First Christian Church. Burial in the Pleasanton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM Thursday at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Christian Church or Mercy Hospice.
