William Rost

Willliam Frederick "Bill" Rost, 66, of Pleasanton, Kansas, died Sunday, March 5, 2006 at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. He was born January 18, 1940 in Mound City, Kansas, the son of Frederick Jacob and Opal Elizabeth Mullies Rost. Bill graduated from Mound City, High School in 1958. On February 23, 1958, he married Claudette Harkness at Mound City. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Virginia Faye Chambers. Survivors include his wife, Claudette of Pleasanton, Kansas; one son, Bill Rost & wife, Kathy of Fort Scott, Kansas; three daughters, Brenda Shoopman & husband, Sean, Tammy Herring and husband, Jim and Connie Benham, all of Pleasanton, Kansas; one brother, Leo Rost of West Covina, California; four sisters, Crystal Mae Williams of Sunland, California, Marjorie Ann Nye of Butte, Montana, Catherine Baker of Gladstone, Missouri and Margaret Linnenbrink of Casco, Michigan; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandson. Graveside memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friay, March 10, 2006 at the Pleasanton Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8:00 PM, Thursday at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton, Kansas. Contributions are suggested to the Bill Rost Memorial Fund.
