William Murray

William Arnold "Bill" Murray, age 82 of Pleasanton, Kansas passed on Sunday November 10, 2013 at the Olathe Medical Center. He was born on February 14, 1931 at Farlinville, Kansas the son of Frank J. Murray and Ula Vail McDowell. He owned and operated his own truck line starting his career at the age of twelve, hauling grain to Kansas City. Bill traveled many a mile during his trucking career. He retired in 1998 because of illness. He graduated from Mound City High School in 1948. He married Lois Poindexter on November 19, 1950 at Drexel, Missouri. He was a member of the American Historical Trucking Society, Pleasanton United Methodist Church, and the Eureka Masonic Lodge #88. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Walter. He is survived by his wife Lois of the home, one son Wayne Murray and wife Joyce, three grandchildren: Reece Good, Heath Good and wife Kim, and Julie Murray, one great grandson Jayden Good, and a sister Ilo Brown. Funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday November 13, 2013 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Burial will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday at the Pleasanton Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association.
