Wilbur New

Wilbur Lee New, age 70, Mound City, Kansas died Friday September 4, 2009. He was born on June 8, 1939 at Mound City, Kansas the son of Beauford and Irene Hewitt New. Before retiring to the farm Wilbur worked at the Osawatomie State Hospital for many years. He enjoyed his cattle and other animals. He liked to fish and was an avid Chiefs fan. Wilbur had a sweet tooth especially for ice cream. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother J.B. New. He is survived by one brother, Charles New of Kansas City, Kansas and six sisters: Alberta Murray of Pleasanton, Kansas, Charlotte Dunavan of Mound City, Kansas, Sandra Snow of Pleasanton, Marsha White of Belton, Missouri, Janet Keating of Bucyrus, Kansas and Joetta Marti of Manhattan, Kansas and many nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday September 8, 2009 at the Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel in Mound City.
