Wayne Galliard "Tex" Ritter, Jr. age 67 of Pleasanton, Kansas died Friday September 4, 2009 at the Neosho Memorial Medical Center in Chanute, Kansas. He was born May 23, 1942 the son of Wayne Ritter Sr. and Mary Casada at Santa Monica, California. He graduated from Drexel High School. Tex was married to Lola Schrickhise on December 29, 1974 in Kansas City, Missouri. Tex and Lola moved to Pleasanton and made it their home in 1991. He worked as a tool and dye maker before retirement. He was a member of the Liberty Worship Center, the Pasture Pickers Blue Grass & Country Gospel Group, and former member of the Masonic Lodge. Tex played many instruments, including: banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, piano and steel guitar. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister and sister Lenora. He is survived by his wife Lola of the home, four daughters: April Ritter of Yorkshire, England, Anjanet Hays of Louisburg, Kansas, Malynda Sweat and David of Pleasanton, and Lorrie Dillingham and Graham of Kansas City North, Missouri, one sister Wanda Gardner and eight grandchildren: John Smith III, Anthony Davis, Jacci Hays, Troy Hays II, Samuel, Abagayle, Colleen and Dawson Sweat and one great grandchild. Funeral service will be held at 11 AM Monday September 7, 2009 at the Liberty Worship Center in Pleasanton. Burial will be in the Prescott Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 PM Sunday at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel in Pleasanton. The family suggests contributions to the Shriner Children's Hospital.
