Wanda Wier

Wanda Pauline Merriman Wier, age 91of LaCygne, Kansas passed away on Wednesday November 21, 2012 at the Olathe Medical Center. She was born North of Mound City in the Linnville Community, October 14th, 1921 to Dirse Hazel and Dollie May (Stokes) Merriman, she was the fifth child of seven children. She married Clarence Atwell Wier, December 22nd, 1939. She is survived by two sons Clarence Ronald and wife Judy and Russell Dale, all of La Cygne. Grandchildren, Chris(Monica) Wier of Eagle, Id; Carrie Watson (Harold) of Fontana, Kansas, Pat Wier (Tracy), Heather Penner (Jeremy) of La Cygne. Great grandchildren: Ryan and Brett Wier, Bailey, Samantha and Cooper Watson,Trevor Wier and Aubree Swisher. She is survived by a brother Owen Merriman and wife Harvey of Spencer Oklahoma and a nephew Robert Merriman, Jr of LaCygne. She was preceded in death by brothers: Russell Merriman, Hazel Merriman, Robert Merriman, sisters Ola May Butts, Dorothy Careswell and several nieces and nephews. Wanda worked for the Mellor Company in La Cygne for several years, followed by Mode O Day in Osawatomie, then Braymores in Pleasanton, Kansas, then retired from Bass Busters at Amsterdam, Mo. Wanda loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband and husband''s cousin Dale Wier and wife Ruby. She loved her sons and loved having them around her. She was a member of the La Cygne Christian Church. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. Funeral Service will be 11 AM Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 6 PM Sunday at the Chapel. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Linn County 4H or the LaCygne Rural High School Alumni, c/o Schneider Funeral Home, P.O.
