Virginia Sutterby

Virginia Lea Sutterby, age 73, Mapleton, Kansas passed away Wednesday January 1, 2014 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas. She was born on May 30, 1940 at Blue Mound, Kansas the daughter of Orvan and Emma Garrett Powell. She attended Logan Grade School and Blue Mound High School, graduating in the Class of 1958. Virginia married Marlyn Sutterby on August 25, 1963 at Mapleton, Kansas. She was currently the secretary of the Mapleton Saddle Club. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Marlyn, son Kevin Sutterby, daughter Marla Sutterby, sister Opal McClellan and many extended family members. Funeral service will be held 10 AM Saturday January 4, 2013 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. Burial in the Mapleton, Kansas Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Mapleton Fire Department, Mapleton Saddle Club or the Justin Heuston Memorial Fund.
