Vera Cain

Vera Marie Cain, age 74 of Pleasanton, Kansas died Friday October 23, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Smithville, Missouri. She was born on January 10, 1935 in Stella, Missouri the daughter of Rev. Frank and Ruby Patton Linton. She was preceded in death by husbands Lynn Scott in 1959 and Raymond Cain in 2007. Vera was a homemaker and later in life a school bus driver. She was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother; family and faith in God was most important to her. Vera was also a member of Bykota Baptist Church. She was surrounded by her children as she went to be with the Lord. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her the most. Survivors include three sons: Jim Scott and wife Kelly, Duane Scott and wife Daleen, and Terry Scott and wife Doreen; three daughters: Diane Jordan and husband Rick, Dina Kircher and husband Dennis, Christina Leonard and husband Aaron; two brothers: Frank and Don Linton; two sisters: Peggy Clopp and Ruth Wilkerson; fifteen grandchildren: Heather Keen, Chad Hultgren, Sara Scott, Matthew Scott, Carmen Detherage, Christopher Scott, Corey Scott, Lyndsey Fatz, Lauren Scott, Jessica Ross, Dylan Jordan, Kacey Wade, Colton Wade, Conner Wade, Elijah Leonard and one granddaughter due in January; five great grandchildren: Jordan Detherage, Camden Keen, Chase Jordan, Amelia Keen, Trenton Rest and one due in June. Services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday October 28, 2009 at the Bykota Southern Baptist Church in Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday October 27, 2009 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton, Kansas. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Hopewell Cemetery near Tunas, Missouri. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.coffelschneider.com.
