Thresa S. Noggle, 94, of Mound City, Kansas, died Thursday, October 4, 2007 At Medical Lodge Nursing Home, Fort Scott, Kansas. She was born January 4, 1913 in Linn County, Kansas, the daughter of Leo Bertner and Edna Elizabeth Hahn Scott. She married James Noggle on November 15, 1933 in Mound City, Kansas. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1977. She owned and operated a café in Mound City from 1959 to 1961. She also worked for 12 years at the Mound City Library in genealogy, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Mound City. She was preceded in death also by two brothers, Waldo and Charles Scott, three sisters, Leah Ellis, Gladys Ward and Ellen Stutesman and one grandson. Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Freeman, Fort Scott, Kansas; three brothers, William Scott, Mound City, Kansas, Calvin Scott, Mesa, Arizona and L.D. Scott, Rolling Meadows, Illinois, one sister, Ester Teeter, Mound City, Kansas; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 8, 2007 at the Mapleton Cemetery, Mapleton, Kansas. There will be no formal visitation.
