Thelma Sherman

Thelma Irene Sherman, age 94, Drexel, Missouri passed away on Friday August 2, 2013. She was born on December 15, 1918 at Boicourt, Kansas the daughter of Frank and Nellie Johnson Clearwater. She married Howard Sherman who preceded her in death in 1989. To this union one son, Ronald Sherman, was born. He also preceded her in death in 2004. She worked as a book keeper for Montgomery Wards, was a member of the Drexel United Methodist Church, coordinated the Older Adults Transportation System in Drexel, and helped with social events at the Drexel Senior Housing. She enjoyed traveling to the Ozarks and spending the winters with husband Howard at Alamo, Texas until his passing. Also preceding Thelma was a brother, Glen and two sisters, Mary Cotton and Edna Ross. She is survived by two grandsons, Jeff Sherman and Christa, and Garret Sherman, one brother, Fred Clearwater, one sister Dorothy Coffeen and on grand daughter, Mirinda Sherman. Funeral service will be held at 10 AM Tuesday August 6, 2013 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery, Mound City, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the Pleasanton Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Drexel United Methodist Church.
