Theodore "Ted" Callahan Jr. of Pleasanton, Kansas died Friday January 16, 2009 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. He was born April 22, 1948 in Howell, Arkansas the son of Theodore and Hatie Lee Chuturus Callahan. Ted worked as an electrician with Great Plains Construction. He was married to Roxanna Peters on March 3rd, 2001. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John Callahan, and a sister, Bobbie Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Roxanna of the home; four sons, Andrew Callahan, and David Haynes, both of Fort Scott, Kansas; Josh Cross, of Joplin, Missouri; and Randy Cross Jr. of Paola, Kansas; seven daughters, Kathy Hurteau, Michelle Taylor, and Casey Cross, all Pleasanton, Kansas; Glory Ann Callahan, of Olathe, Kansas; Daisy Burton, Arcadia, Kansas; Roxy Ramsey, Mound City, Kansas; and Meme Relf, of Pittsburg, Kansas; two brothers, Charles Callahan, of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Sam Callahan, of Kansas City, Missouri, three sisters, Mae Williams, Alice Callahan Scales, and Nellie Belle Callahan, all of Kansas City, Missouri; 26 grandchildren; and 6 great grand children. Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday January 21, 2009 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 PM at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Ted Callahan Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be left for the family a www.coffelschneider.com .
