Ruby Nation

Ruby I. Nation, age 87, Mound City, Kansas passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Olathe Medical Center. She was born at Centerville, Kansas on August 4, 1928 the daughter of Paris and Lena Patterson Neal. She worked in the Shawnee Mission School District in food service, for Nabisco and would fondly be remembered most as a homemaker. She married Ralph Nation on November 17, 1944. He preceded her in death on July 5, 2009. Ruby attended Mound City First Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing cards, the Royals and Jayhawk Basketball. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline Lee Rupe in 1972, a brother Jr. Neal and an infant brother, Joe. She is survived by two sons, Gary Nation and Cindy, and Ron Nation and Doris, five grandchildren: Kristi Stone, Sarah Sutterby, Tiffany Troxell, Ashlee Allen and Jordan Nation, and eight great grandchildren: Noah and Riley Stone, Calleigh, Crew and Cajer Sutterby, Taylor and Emerson Troxell, and Ellie Nation. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2015 at the Mound City First Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Linnville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Life Care Center of Osawatomie.
