Ruby Earnest

Ruby Von Earnest, age 87 of Pleasanton, Kansas died Friday September 25, 2009 at Pleasanton, Kansas. She was born November 17, 1921 south of Prescott, Kansas the daughter of Otto and Ethel Shaler Dunnington. She graduated from Prescott High School and then attended Fort Scott Beautician School. She married Kenneth "Dutch" Earnest on January 25, 1942 at Paola, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2004. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pleasanton, Rotary, and helped with the American Cancer Society. She loved flowers and her family, especially, her boys, Wayne and Lester. Survivors include two sons: Wayne Earnest and Kathy of Pleasanton and Lester Earnest and Cindy of Pleasanton, three sisters: Ann Twalmy, Verna Caldwell, and Helen Murrow, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two on the way, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday September 28, 2009 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home Pleasanton, Kansas. Burial will be in the Little Cemetery. The family encourages friends and relative to visit after 1 PM Sunday September, 27 at Lester and Cindy's house. The family suggests contributions to Southern Care Hospice.
