Rodney Clarence Springer, age 60, Prescott, Kansas passed away on Saturday September 15, 2012. He was born on May 5, 1952 at Fort Scott, Kansas the son of Charlie Clarence and Alta June Springer. He graduated from Prescott High School and attended Fort Scott Community College and later received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from Pittsburg State University. He served his country in the United States Army. He married Debra Shattuck and to this union three children were born, Tatum, Quentin, and Charlie. Rod worked as an agronomist in western Kansas and later in the San Luis Valley of Colorado where he also farmed potatoes. He returned to Prescott and continued working in the agriculture industry, farming and ranching. Rod was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, prospecting and bird watching. He had a special love for the Rocky Mountains. Funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Burial will be in the Prescott Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to service. The family suggests contributions to the Wounded Warrior Foundation, c/o Schneider Funeral Home, P. O.
