Richard Post

Richard "Rick" Alan Post, age 61 Prescott, Kansas passed away Monday, September 19, 2016 at his home. He was born on April 17, 1955 at Fort Scott, Kansas the son of Alvin and Suda Edwards Post. He attended Prescott Schools and graduated from Jayhawk Linn High School. He worked at several occupations the most recent in waste management with Linn County, Kansas. He was a member of the NRA, he was involved in target shooting and reloading his own ammunition. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, leatherworking, watching western movies and reading, especially his favorite author James Lee Burke. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Raymond and Duane Post and a sister Florence Post. He is survived by two sons, Nick Burney and wife Tara, and Chad Burney, a daughter, Gayla Williams and husband Buzz, three sisters: Elaine Shroyer, Carol Oakes, and Kathy Williams, and three grandchildren: Grace, Nicholas and Madison. Graveside service will be held 11 am, Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the Prescott Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Monday at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. The family suggests contributions to Harvesters.
