Rick LaMar, 62, of Highlandville, Mo passed away Mar 8, 2019 in Springfield. He was born Dec 20, 1956 in Olathe, KS to Harvey and Eva LaMar. He grew up in Olathe and Paola, later moving near Branson where he built roller-coasters for Silver Dollar City, joined a group of cowboys, rode stagecoach, and did charitable work with children. One of his favorite things was to give a cowboy hat to a kid.
Rick was preceded in death by his father Harvey LaMar, sister Ruth Marie LaMar Fuller, Chere'' Keithley, niece Kristi Clark and grandparents Harvey and Lulu LaMar and Arthur and Ruth Conley.
He is survived by the love of his life Jody Wheat of Branson West and her grandson Joel Keithley; mother Eva (John) Frazee of LaCygne; brothers: Bud (Brenda) LaMar of Olathe, Jerry (Elaine) LaMar of Bellingham, WA; children: Carrie (Tim) Hough, Chris (Melanie) LaMar, Kyle (Jolene) LaMar all of Ottawa, Missy (Tanner) Butler of Rantoul, Jennifer (Chad) Owen of Arkansas; 18 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many friends, Cowboy partners and beloved horse Chester.
Services by Schneider Funeral Home, LaCygne, KS on Sat, April 20. Visitation at noon, funeral at 1 pm. Burial immediately following, Brooklyn Cemetery, LaCygne.
