Richard Lee Keaton

Richard Lee Keaton, age 90, of Lane, Kansas passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025. He was born on January 29, 1935 in Harrison, Arkansas the son of Kenneth and Clara Richards Keaton. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Joyce Gilchrist on June 4, 1955. She preceded him in death on March 1, 2025. After retiring from the roofing business he became a full time rancher. He had worked for the Florida Highway Patrol, was a pilot and member of the civil air patrol. He was Ambassador for God #1 and a member of the Assembly of God in Paola, Kansas. Richard is survived by two sons, Steven Keaton and wife Kathryn, and Richard Keaton Jr. and wife Angie, two daughters, Susan Arbuckle and husband Daryl, and Anna Marie Woodhead, thirteen grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 12 noon Friday, April 11, 2025 at the Schneider Funeral Home, La Cygne Chapel. Burial will be in the Wait Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 am to service time at the La Cygne Chapel.  Everyone is invited to the Wagon Wheel after the graveside for food and fellowship.  Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
