Richard Johnson

Richard Dean "John" Johnson, age 70, Pleasanton, Kansas passed away on July 11, 2013. He was born in Arizona on December 7, 1942 the son of Floyd and Syble Mertz Johnson. He graduated from Pleasanton High School. He retired as an area supervisor with Kansas City Power and Light. He married Judith Musick on August 13, 2011. John was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Randy and Morgan Johnson and one grandson, Jesse Johnson. He was a member of the Pleasanton First Baptist Church, coached numerous baseball teams throughout the years, and was a two term Mayor of Pleasanton. He is survived by his wife Judy of the home, three sons, Jon Michael Johnson, Lee Johnson, and Jamie Parker, step daughter Laura Garcia, half sister, Candy Medlin, step mother Jane Oldham, sixteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two cousins Rick Courtois and Charlene Allison, and several other family members. Memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Monday July 15, 2013 at the Pleasanton First Baptist Church. Inurnment will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery.
