Richard Robert "Dick" George, age 65, Linn Valley, Kansas passed away December 29, 2012. He was born on March 24, 1947 the son of John Thomas George and Ione Hanson. He graduated from Rosedale High School. Dick received a Bachelor's Degree in History from Cameron University. He married Pamela Minturn on June 4, 1965 at Kansas City, Kansas. He served his country in the United States Army retiring as a Major. Dick also worked for the Linn County Sheriff's Department, SRO for the Prairie View District, and the Linn Valley Police Department. He was a member of the Linn Valley Community Church, and served as mayor of Linn Valley. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Pam of the home, two sons, Keith George of Clay Center, Kansas and Ken George and wife Shan of Council Grove, Kansas, a daughter, Kim Vinson and husband Steven of Pleasanton, Kansas, a brother, Thomas George of Cincinnati, Ohio and six grandchildren: Jessica, Alex, Kaylee, Richard, McKenzie and J. T. Memorial service will be held 11 AM Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Linn Valley Community Church. Burial will be in the Pleasanton, Kansas Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday at the Church. The family suggests contributions to the Linn Valley Community Church.
