Paul Wade age 89, of LaCygne, Kansas died Monday April 4, 2011 at his home. He was born on April 10, 1921 in Linn County the son of Ray and Letha Hensley Wade. Paul graduated from LaCygne Rural High School where he enjoyed playing football, basketball, and track. His passion of sports carried over to Kansas City Royals baseball and KU basketball. He married Edith Rogers on October 4, 1941 at Mound City, Kansas. Paul was self employed as a truck driver and was well known for his ability to spread gravel. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; George, Vernon, Norman, Carl, a sister; Elsie Patterson, and two infant siblings Ruth Ellen and Robert. He is survived by his wife Edith of the home, a son Jim Wade of LaCygne, Kansas, three brothers; Richard, Ivan, and Roy, a granddaughter Shelly Lape, four great grandchildren, and a great great grandson. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday April 9, 2011 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home LaCygne, Kansas. There will be no formal visitation Paul will lay in state at the funeral home Friday April 8, 2011 for friends and family to pay their respects. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn cemetery LaCygne, Kansas.
