Ophelia Marie Elledge, 96, of Hume, Missouri, died Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Prescott Countryview Nursing Home, Prescott, Kansas. She was born August 25, 1913 in Metz, Missouri, the daughter of John and Josephine Ransom Long. She graduated from Metz High School. On January 9, 1932, she married Noel Elledge. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1989. She was employed as a seamstress for Nellie Dawn prior to her retirement. Ophelia was a member of the Hume Methodist Church where she played the piano, led the singing and taught Sunday School. She was a member of the UMW, Hume Garden Club and the Stotesbury Grange. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Wesley Long and two sisters, Daisy Kleitz and Leta Long. Survivors include two sons; Eldon Elledge & Sandra of Oak Grove, Missouri and Lawrence Elledge & Carolyn of Overland Park, Kansas; one daughter, Karen Small & Phil of Kingsville, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 31, 2009 at the Hume United Methodist Church, Hume, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time. Contributions are suggested to the Hume United Methodist Church.
