Norman D. Wade, age 81 of Gas, Kansas passed away the evening of June 12, 2010 at the Windsor Place at Iola, Kansas. He was born January 21, 1929 at Pleasanton, Kansas, the son of Ray V. and Letha Hensley Wade. He grew up in LaCygne, Kansas and had several businesses there, the last of which was Norel Homes Co. begun in 1970 by he and his wife. He moved to Gas in 1982 and continued selling modular & manufactured homes until he retired in 2004 with some health problems resulting from a stroke in 2002.On June 26, 1948, he married Evelyn L. Miller. To this union 4 children were born, Greg, Kevin, Roxanne and Mark. He worked very diligently in his businesses, was a friend to all, and loved to talk. He was always ready to help anyone. He became a Christian in his teens and was baptized into Calvary Baptist Church. He was Preceded in death by his parents, a son; Greg Wade, a sister; Elsie Patterson, and three brothers; George W., Vernon (Elsie), and Carl (Helen). He is survived by his wife of 62 years of the home, 2 sons and 1 daughter; Kevin & wife Daleine, Anderson South Carolina, Mark & wife Jenise, Iola, Kansas and Roxanne Martin & husband David, Kansas City, Kansas, daughter-in-law Vicki Wade, Abilene, Kansas; 14 grandchildren; Kevin E. Wade (Amy) Eudora, Kansas and Katy Wade, Abilene, Kansas; Stephanie Brougher (Jeremy) Johnstown, Pennsylvania , Danae Sellers (Nathan), Jenna & Caleb Wade, Anderson, South Carolina, Griffin Martin (Rebekah) Kansas City, Missouri, Lacey, Abby, Tanner, Thatcher & Molly Martin, Kansas City, Kansas, Garrett and Sydney Wade, Iola, Kansas, 4 great-granddaughters Maddy, Elly, Jordan, & Chloe; 4 brothers Paul (Edith), Roy (Della), Richard (Jane) all of LaCygne, Kansas and Ivan (Barbara) Overland Park, Kansas. Many nieces, nephews and other relatives and a host of friends. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday June 18, 2010 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home LaCygne, Kansas. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 Pm. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, LaCygne, Kansas.
