Norman Ray Clemens, age 80 of Pleasanton, Kansas died Tuesday January 1, 2013 at the Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott, Kansas. He was born on November 5, 1932 at Norborne, Missouri the son of Claud and Mary Parks Clemens. Norman worked as a mechanic for Cox Motors, Kipper Chevorlet, and Fort Scott Motors before opening his own machine Shop. He married Rozella "Jane" Wurts on August 17, 1973; she preceded him in death on August 22, 2001. He is also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Edward and Estel Clemens; a sister Fay Bohenberger; and a great nephew; Michael E. Clemens. He is survived by a son Norman Clemens Jr. of Neck City, Missouri; a brother Ernest Clemens; two sisters: Willa Lee Huckinson, and Lorene Coldwell; two grandchildren: Shannon D. Clemens and Sabrena D. Wells; a nephew Michael Clemens and wife Renee and their children Trever, and Kayleigh, two great grandchildren, and a stepson Harold Rittenhouse. A Memorial service will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday January 10, 2013 at the Pleasanton Assembly of God Church. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. The family suggests contributions to the Fort Scott Manor and may be left in c/o the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory PO Box 525 Pleasanton, Kansas 66075.
