Neva Jean Vogel Schneider passed away peacefully in her home, in Charlotte, North Carolina on Jan. 17 at the age of 95. Neva was born on March 29, 1926 in Perry, Kansas to the late Iva Dick Vogel and William Franklin Vogel. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth, along with a sister, Darlene Short, and brother, Leroy Vogel. Neva is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Beverly Schneider, Karen and Tom Moore, Debra Nicholson, Diane and Jerald Gaskin, Ken and Vickie Schneider, Amy and Michael Gleason; her grandchildren, Angie (Ryan) Nash, Katie (Peter) DeMoss, Tommy Moore, Justin (Angela) Nicholson, Sarah (Peter) Gentile, David (Ashton) Gaskin, Allie Schneider, Kenneth (Taylor) Schneider, Joseph Schneider, Erin Gleason, and Lauren Gleason. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren whom she adored, along with many family members in Kansas and Texas. Neva retired from BellSouth where she worked for 25 years. She will be best remembered for her sense of humor, her generous heart and her great love for her family.
A private Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday, Jan. 28 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, where she was a long-time member. Reverend Timothy Reid will officiate. A graveside service will be held 11 am Saturday, February 5, 2022 at St Joseph Cemetery, Nortonville, Kansas.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Larry Berman and Hospice of Charlotte for their remarkable understanding of the needs of both Neva and her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Charlotte.
