Nancy Ekengren

Nancy Lee Ekengren, age 65, of Mound City, Kansas passed away Friday April 27, 2012 at Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott, Kansas. She was born at Kansas City, Missouri on August 22, 1946 the daughter of Merle and Bertha Oglesby Newton. She married Alvin Ekengren Jr. on April 22, 1984. She was a driver for SEKCAP and Vice President of the Mound City Historical Society. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Ekengren, a daughter Geneva Ekengren, a brother Donald Newton, and a sister, Janet Main. She is survived by her husband Al, of the home, three sons: Neal, Ben and Hugh Ekengren, a daughter, Melisa Scherer, a brother, Tom Newton, two sisters, Betty Newton and Iona Smith, twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Cremation was provided by the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel.
