Murriell Yates Wilson, age 93, of Garnett, Kansas died Thursday December 1, 2011 at the Anderson County Hospital Long Term Care. She was born July 12, 1918 the daughter of Mary Elizabeth and Charles Cooke Walter. She graduated from Kincaid High School. She married John Hardin Yates. To this union three children were born, David, Jane and Claron. John preceded her in death on November 28, 1993. She then married Earl Wilson on May 6, 1998. Murriell was a wife and a homemaker. She also worked outside the home at Vern & Kays IGA, and as a nurse's aid at nursing homes in the Garnett area. Murriell is survived by her husband Earl of Garnett, two sons, David Yates and Barbara of Mound City, Kansas, Claron Yates of Osage City, Kansas, one daughter Jane Danner and Gary of Garnett, stepson Ron Wilson and Joy, step daughter Janet Henley, grandchildren Tracy Schneider and Todd, Michael Katzer and Melissa, and Monica Katzer, great grandchildren Blaise, Aidan, Giavona and Celeste Schneider, and a niece Billy Faye Dickson and Gary. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday December 8, 2011 at the New Life Baptist Church, Garnett, Kansas. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the New Life Baptist Church. The family suggests contributions to the Anderson County Hospital Long Term Care Activity Fund.
