Morris Allen age 79, formerly of Linn County, currently of Flemington, Missouri died Friday June 6 at St John's in Springfield, Missouri. Morris was born June 28, 1928 near Newkirk, Oklahoma, the firstborn of McKinley Allen and Inez Beatrice (Adams) Allen. The family later moved to a farm near Mound City, Kansas. He grew up helping his father on that farm. He graduated from Mound City, High School in 1945. Morris served in teh United States Air Force from 1948 to 1952, during the Korean conflict. he was promoted to staff sergeant by the time his service was completed. After serving in the military, he returned home and resumed helping his father farm, until he married Edna Mae Rigdon November 25, 1955. Morris was a family man above all else. He and Edna Mae raised four children. After the service, Morris mostly worked as an airplane mechanic. He worked for many airline industry companies, including Central, Pan Am, Air Mod, Boeing, and finally 25 years with TWA in Kansas City. In 1990 Morris retired from TWA. In 1990, they moved to a house on 40 wooded acres near Weaubleau, Missouri. During retirement, Morris had the opportunity to travel to many places with Edna, including Hawaii and Alaska. Morris is survived by his wife Edna Mae, his four children Helen, Susan, Mark and David, his 10 grandchildren, Jonathan, Jennifer, Kyle, Nocolette, Tiffany, Matthew, Zachary, Samuel, Eric and Austin and his brother, Cleland and Ottis, and his sisters, Vada and Joyce. Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Tuesday June 10 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home in Mound City, Kansas. Burial will be in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to service time at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association or the Disabled American Veterans.
