Max Eldon Sabine, 82, passed away on December 3, 2008 at the Fort Scott Medicalodge. Max was born on November 3, 1926 in Chanute, Kansas. He was the fifth of seven children born to Carl Alonzo and Mabel (House) Sabine. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister. He is survived by a brother, Alfred, of Callahan, Florida, and two sisters; Norma of Manhattan, Kansas and Margaret Elayer of Reeds Springs, Missouri. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families. Max served his country in the United States Army for seventeen years. After leaving the army, he resided in Olathe Kansas for nearly 35 years where he worked as a restaurant cook. Max enjoyed dancing, gardening and the company of his dogs. Max's cremains will be inurned in the National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kansas. There are no formal services.
