Mary Ann Callahan, age 79, long time resident of Pleasanton, Kansas passed away on Saturday September 21, 2013. She was born near Pleasanton, Kansas on September 22, 1933 the daughter of Clara Saum Jackson. She married Lee Callahan on August 24, 1951 at Great Bend, Kansas; he preceded her in death on April 21, 2013. To this union six children were born. Mary worked hard as a housewife raising and taking care of her six children. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pleasanton, served on the Pleasanton Library Board for many years, S.O.C., treasurer for Linn County Senior Citizens, and Silver Hair Legislator. Her most enjoyable time was spent with her husband, kids, and grandkids. She was also preceded in death by her mother Clara Jackson, a daughter, Darla Oswalt-Heindel in 2007, a grand daughter, Amber Callahan in 2009, a sister Beth Neider, She is survived by a one son Bryan Callahan, four daughters: Judy Gorman-Herman, Vianna LeBoeuf, Vicky Steiner and Marsha Stoll, a brother Clarence Buddy Jackson, fourteen grand and twelve great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday September 25, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church of Pleasanton.
