Martin Springer

Martin Edward ‘Marty' Springer, age 47, Paola, Kansas went home to the Lord on Thursday September 30, 2010 at Kansas University Medical Center with family and friends at his side. He was born May 13, 1963 at Garnett, Kansas the third child of Edward Lee and Judith Rhoades Springer. Marty worked for O'Donnell & Sons Construction until he started Springer Construction Company. He was a member of the Operators Union Local #101. He was preceded in death by in infant brother, Clinton and infant sister, Rene. Also preceding him were his father, Eddie Lee Springer, grandparents Eddie and Mary Springer, grandfather, Frank Rhoades, and cousin Julie Fleming. Marty is survived by his mother, Judith Wade; a daughter Ashley Cane and Jeff; brother, Rocky Springer; sister, Sharmon Hurt and Kevin, nephews, Brandon and Nickolas; girlfriend, Barbara Stone-Murphy; Aunt Jewell Fleming and Ed; Aunt Joanne Washburn and Allen; two grandson, Aidan and Skylar Cane; and maternal grandparents Frank and Alice Witcher; cousins, Robert and Richard Ayres, Rebecca Porter, Eddie, Curtis and Jason Fleming and families. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday October 4, 2010 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel in Pleasanton, Kansas. Burial will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery.
