Marjory Elizabeth Black, 91, of Denver, Colorado, formerly of Pleasanton and Kansas City, Kansas, died Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Berkley Manor Care Facility, Denver, Colorado. She was born March 3, 1918 in Pleasanton, Kansas the daughter of William and Noma Gilmore Umphenour. She was a graduate of Pleasanton High School. She married Eddie Black on August 11, 1938 at Stockton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1999. Marjory was employed at Rosedale State Bank from 1952 until 1980, retiring as Vice President of the Trust Department. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen McQuitty; two brothers, Lee and Eugene Umphenour; one sister, Ella Holsman; and a great grandson, Grant Sala. Survivors include a daughter, Sharen Black of Denver, Colorado; two sisters, Betty Johnson of Kansas City, Kansas and Mildred Perkins of LaCygne, Kansas; four grandchildren, David Brougham, John McQuitty and wife Rachel, Sydney Brougham Sala, and Jason Brougham and wife Kathy, and three great grandchildren, Ridgley, Beckett & Dalton McQuitty. Funeral service will be held at 1 PM Thursday November 5, 2009 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel in Pleasanton, Kansas. Burial will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery.
