Marjorie Grace Black, 87, of Pleasanton, Kansas died Monday, June 6, 2011 at the Countryview Nursing Home, Prescott, Kansas. She was born July 18, 1923 in Augusta, Kansas. She was the daughter of Elmer and Bessie Meachem Berg. She married Weslie Black on November 10, 1940 at Eldorado, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1996. Marjorie was a member of the Pleasanton Church of the Nazarene, where she had served as Secretary and Treasurer and also taught Sunday School. She was preceded in death also by her parents and one son, Richard Black who died in 1984. Survivors include three sons; James Black & wife, Julie of Paola, Kansas; John Black & wife, Susan of Pleasanton, Kansas and Patrick Black & wife, Brenda of Mound City, Kansas; five daughters, Penny Black, Glenna Baldwin & husband, Lloyd, Janet Kleweno & husband, Eric, all of Pleasanton, Kansas; Carol Beckwith & husband, Bob of Fort Scott, Kansas and Patricia Murray & husband, Larry of Nixa, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Thursday at the Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Interment will be in the Littell Cemetery, Pleasanton, Kansas.
