Margaret Wood

Margaret Adaline Wood, age 97, of Pleasanton, Kansas died Sunday April 26, 2009 at the Prescott Country View Nursing Home. She was born on February 26, 1912 at Pleasanton, Kansas the daughter of Elwyn and Alice Stark Hazelbaker. She worked at the nursing home in Pleasanton and also at the Pleasanton School. Margaret was a member of the Audubon Society, VFW Auxiliary, the United States Army Mothers and attended the Pleasanton Nazarene Church. She married Frank Wood on May 16, 1929. He preceded her in death on January 25, 1989. She was also preceded in death by one son, John Wood, two daughters, Jean Baldwin and Madge Hennick, two grandchildren and five siblings: Blaine, Marion, Edna, Mary and Alice Ruth. She is survived by two daughters Louise Wiedner and Virgil of Pleasanton, and Mary Newton and Dean of Little Rock, Arkansas, seventeen grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren and nineteen greatgreat grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday April 28, 2009 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home in Pleasanton, Kansas. Burial will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the Prescott Country View or Pleasanton Nazarene Church.
