Manuel Reece

Manuel Reece, 79, of Pleasanton, Kansas, died Sunday December 14, 2008 at Overland Park, Kansas. He was born December 15, 1928 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, the son of Olan and Okla Wells Reece. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #101. He married Elizabeth Carey on October 28, 1990. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth of the home; one step-son, Ron Weems & Lisa of Bakersfield, California; two step daughters; Sue Coureton & Norman of Overland Park, Kansas and Mary Stanbrough & Kevin of Mound City, Kansas; a half brother, Charles Martin of Rogers, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Brianna & Brittany Weems, Jennifer McGinnis, Angela McElwain, Brandon McGinnis, Jacob & Garrett Stanbrough; and six great grandchildren. Also surviving is his beloved dog, Mandee. As per his wishes, Mr. Reece willed his body to science. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM, Thursday at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton, Kansas. A visitation will follow the service until 8:00 PM.
