Louis Swartz Sr.

Louis Virgil Swartz, age 62, Pleasanton, Kansas passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023.  He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 30, 1961 the son of Lorenzo and Erma Brown Swartz.  He worked as a laborer in the construction trade for many years.  He served his country in the National Guard.  Louis enjoyed traveling, fishing and hunting, and spending time with family and friends.  He was a "tinkerer" bringing back to life many small engines.  He had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening, flowers and tending to various plants.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bobby Swartz, two sisters, Shiela Roach and Erma Minor, and a brother in law Larry Minor.  Louis is survived by Susie Parker, his companion of twelve years, children, Gloria Thurman(Tommy), Louis Swartz Jr., Christopher Swartz, and Lacey Greenstreet, four brothers, Gary Swartz(Dee), Richard Swartz, Larry Swartz(Sheena),  and Lorenzo Swartz Jr.(Sharon), two sisters, Nellie Gilkey(John), and Marsh Jennings(Billy), a brother in law, Gary Roach, and five grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:30 am Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.  Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery, Foster, Missouri.  Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Pleasanton Chapel.  Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Louis Swartz Memorial Fund.  Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
