Leon Dennis

Leon Foster Dennis, age 79, passed away peacefully, March 7, 2011. Leon was born in Norwood, Mo. to Earl and Lois (Lucas) Dennis on February 18, 1932. He was an avid hunter of pheasant, every year he headed to western Kansas for his hunting trip. Leon also enjoyed making pens and woodworking. He retired from O'Neill Oldsmobile after 27 years of service. Leon was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Lela Hardin. Survivors include, his wife of almost 60 years, Angilee of the home, one daughter, Charlotte (John) Becker, of Butler, Mo. and two sons, Edwin Dennis of the home and Terry (Shirley) Dennis of Van Buren, Ark. Six grandchildren, Tracy Parks, Roger Parks, Janet (James)Wason, Teri Rae (John) Taylor, Andrew (Kameron) Becker and Christopher Becker. Fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Also surviving Leon is one sister Wanda (Ed) Hardy, Wendell (Sharon) Dennis and Randall (Jan) Dennis. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services 11 AM Thursday, Coffel-Schneider Chapel, LaCygne, Kansas. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Chapel.
