Leila Rucker

Leila Fay Vail Rucker, age 92, LaCygne, Kansas died Monday January 17, 2011 at Life Care in Osawatomie, Kansas. She was born at Drexel, Missouri on August 28, 1918 the daughter of James W. and Bertha VanEaton Vail. She attended and received her Bachelor and Master degrees from Pittsburg State Teachers College. She was a school teacher for forty-six years, teaching for sixteen years in rural schools in Linn and Miami, Counties, and the final thirty years at LaCygne. She married Cloyce Rucker in December of 1978. He preceded her in death in June of 2004. Also preceding her were two sisters, RDell Manning and June Repp, and one nephew, James C. Manning. She is survived by one brother James W. Vail Jr. of Camdenton, and six nephews: Clifford D.Manning, William Manning, Dennis L. Vail, Larry J.Vail, Michael L.Vail and Patrick J.Repp. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday January 22, 2011 at the Calvary Baptist Church, LaCygne, Kansas. Burial will be in the East Mt Zion Cemetery near LaCygne. Visitation will be held from 12:30 until service time at the Calvary Baptist Church.
