Lee Callahan, age 81, long time resident of Pleasanton, Kansas passed away on Sunday April 21, 2013. He was born in Deepwater, Missouri on September 19, 1931the son of Marion and Vianna E. Wallace Callahan. He married Mary Ann Chadwick on August 24, 1951 at Great Bend, Kansas. To this union six children were born. Lee started his working career in his father''s coal mine, later as an iron worker in Western Kansas, then for Murray Limestone, and finally for List and Clark/Central Plains Construction Co retiring in 1977. During retirement he was able to spend more time at his hobbies of wood working, hunting Indian Artifacts and exercise. Lee was also very active in volunteering in the community and the Pleasanton Presbyterian Church, where he was a member. His most enjoyable time was spent with his wife, kids, and grandkids. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Darla Oswalt-Heindel in 2007, a grand daughter, Amber Callahan, brother Bob Callahan, and two sisters, Vivian Steiner and Faye Cowley. He is survived by his wife Mary of the home, one son Bryan Callahan, four daughters: Judy Gorman-Herman, Vianna LeBoeuf, Vicky LaRue-Steiner and Marsha Walters-Stoll, three brothers: Jerry, Wally and Olen Callahan, three sisters: Ola May Ernest, Kate Holmes, and Mary Lou Cox, fourteen grand and twelve great grandchildren. Memorial service will be 10 AM Saturday June 15, 2013 at the Pleasanton Presbyterian Church. Inurnment will follow in the Littell Cemetery.
