Larence Boyer

Larence Allen "Tiny" Boyer, 82, of Baldwin City, Kansas, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence, Kansas. He was born March 10, 1928 in Lorane, Texas the son of Richard B. and Katherine Mae Campbell Boyer. He was married to Carol Alm on December 6, 1975. Tiny retired from military duty with the United States Navy where he was a heavy equipment operator. He formerly had served as Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce in Kodiak, Alaska, Las Vegas, Nevada and Oxnard, California. He had been a member of the Lions' Club, Masonic Lodge, VFW and American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Carol of Baldwin, Kansas; two sons, Mike Boyer & Debbie of Houston, Texas and Randy Boyer & Katie of Sutherlin, Oregon; one step-son, Dwight Sare & Kathy of Rantoul, Kansas; two step-daughters, Linda Litke & Carl of Las Vegas, Nevada and Charlene Higby & Dave of Simi Valley, California; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 14, 2011 at the Ives Chapel, Baldwin, Kansas. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Baldwin Health Care Center. Interment will be in the Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas.
