Kenneth "Kenny", or Peanut, Wood, age 53, of Hume, Missouri died Sunday October 4, 2009. He was born on March 21, 1956 at Fort Scott, Kansas the son of Vergil and Delma Brown Wood. He graduated from Jayhawk Linn High School. He worked as a carpenter and also raised cattle. He married Vicki Lord on December 29, 1989 at the home in Hume. This wedding was witnessed by their mothers, Delma Wood and Hazel Lord. Kenny was a member of the Hume Christian Church, NRA, involved with the youth as a 4H leader and coaching. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and shooting, and playing Texas Holdem. He was preceded in death by his father in 1986. He is survived by his wife Vicki of the home, one son, Ty Lord of Uniontown, Kansas, two daughters, Mindy McCall of Humboldt, Kansas and Shelby Wood of Prescott, Kansas, four brothers: Leland Wood of Fort Scott, Kansas, Craig Wood of Pleasanton, Kansas, David Wood of Nevada, Missouri and Kevin Wood of Prescott, Kansas, one sister Carol Majors of Fort Scott and five grandchildren: Derrick, Hannah, Makaylah, Aricah, and Tyler. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday at the Hume Christian Church. Burial will be in the Prescott Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home, Pleasanton, Kansas. The family suggests contributions to the Grandchildren's Education Fund.
