Dr. Kenneth "Ken" Jon Stanage, 53, of LaCygne, Kansas, died Thursday May 29, 2008 at his home in LaCygne, Kansas. He was born July 25, 1954 in Lakeville, Indiana, the son of Kenneth and Martha Plummer Stanage. Ken went to Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana where he received his Business Administration Degree, going on to Fort Hays State to receive his Masters, and finished with his P.H.D. from Kansas State University. He married Jana Weddel in 1978 in Martinville, Indiana. He was employed as the Superintendent of the Prairie View School District until his illness forced his retirement. He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Joseph Stanage. Survivors include his mother, Martha Stangage, of Lakeville, Indiana, his wife Jana Stanage, of Lacygne, three sons, Israel Stanage of Overland Park, Kansas, Holden and Tanner Stanage of LaCygne, one daughter Hannah Magner and husband Grayson of LaCygne, one brother Steve Stanage of Washington, three sisters Cheryl Bolles of New Mexico, Janis Kulczar of South Bend, Indiana, Shelly Hale of Lapaz, Indiana, and Cathi Candler of Lakeville, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday June 3, 2008 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home in LaCygne, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 PM Monday June 2, 2008 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Chapel in LaCygne. The family suggests contributions to the Hospice Care of Kansas, and the ALS Foundation Keith Worthington Chapter in care of the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home.
