Kathleen Butts

Kathleen M. Butts, 72, of Mound City, Kansas died Monday, July 2, 2007 at her home. She was born October 9, 1934 in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of Franklin and Elsie Snyder Butts. She worked for a number of years as a legal secretary in the insurance field and also for the International Headquarters of the Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a member of the Pleasanton Church of the Nazarene, and attended the United Methodist Church in Mound City. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Clinton Butts and Franklin Butts Jr. and five sisters, June Needham, Donna Swineford, Phyllis Michelis, Gladys Crim and Barbara Skaggs. Survivors include her special friend and caregiver, Clara Rogers of Mound City, Kansas; a brother-in-law, George Swineford of Pleasanton, Kansas and twenty-nine nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, Jody Swineford and Dianne Redding. Cremation with Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at the United Methodist Church, Mound City, Kansas. Contributions are suggested to Children's Mercy Hospital.
