Judith Lee Smith, 72, of Pleasanton, Kansas, died Thursday, October 29, 2009 at her home. She was born September 27, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Arnold and Clara Hough Deane. She married Marvin Smith on June 6, 1964 at Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1997. Judith worked in the cafeteria in the Kansas City Missouri School district until retirement in 1993. Judith's father died when she was very young and she was raised by her mother and step-father Elmer Brown. She played the guitar, piano and organ and especially enjoyed playing music with her husband, Marvin. Judith also enjoyed crafts, painting and poetry. She was preceded in death also by her parents and a son-in-law, Frank Hansuld. Survivors include her daughters, Johnna Schreckhise & Jack Jr. and Jo D. Hansuld, all of Pleasanton, Kansas; six grandchildren, Jackie Schreckhise III, Jessica Schreckhise, James Kyle Schreckhise, Jennifer Martin, Holly New and Shawna Hansuld and eight great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 6, 2009 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
