Johnny R. Cox, 56, of Lincoln, Missouri, died Saturday, December 1, 2007 near Warrensburg, Missouri. He was born December 28, 1950 in Paola, Kansas, the son of Robert and Virginia Staton Cox. He grew up in Odessa and graduated from Odessa High School, Class of 1968. He enlisted in the United States Army on April 28, 1969 and served in the Vietnam War and Army Reserves until April of 1975. On June 14,1969, he was united in marriage to Sharon Davis, in Harrelson, Arkansas. To this union two children, Teresa and "Little" John were born. They made their home in Jackson County. Later, from 1977 until 1997, Johnny made his home in Livingston, Louisiana, before moving to Benton County, Missouri. On February 14, 1999,he was united in marriage to Carmen Clariady. Johnny was an avid outdoorsman who thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors in all its splendor. He was a man that lived life to its fullest and will be dearly missed by those who were a part of it. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Cox, one brother, Roger Cox and two sisters, Linda Cox and Deanna Roush. He is survived by his wife, Carmen, two children, Teresa Conn and her husband, Rodney of Grain Valley, Missouri and "Little" John Cox and his wife, Jessica, also of Grain Valley, Missouri; four brothers, Danny, Rob, Rick and Russ; two sisters, Laura and Virginia, eight grandchildren and his life-long companion, Vicki Grey, of Lincoln, Missouri; other relatives and many friends. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton, Kansas. A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Tuesday at the Reser Funeral Home, 101 W. Main St., Warsaw, Missouri. Interment will be in Trading Post Cemetery, Trading Post, Kansas. Contributions are suggested to the family in lieu of flowers.
