Jimmy "Jim" Dean Carr, age 65 of Blue Mound, Kansas died Friday September 2, 2011 at his home. He was born on February 12, 1946 at LaFountain, Kansas the son of Ruben and Fern Shue Carr. Jim was a United States Army Veteran serving his country during the Vietnam War, where he earned a Purple Heart. He married Vina Payne on November, 26, 1967 at Fredonia, Kansas. He worked for Kansas City Power and Light, Heartland Eclectic, and farmed. He was a member of the Friends of the Mound City Lake, loved fishing, hunting, trapping, trap shooting, and running the concession stand. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Wilbur Carr, and a nephew Carl Carr. He is survived by his wife Vina of Blue Mound, a son John Carr of Pleasanton. Kansas, a daughter Christy Carr of Mound City, Kansas a brother Howard Carr of Mapleton, Kansas, a sister Doris Jones of Caney, Kansas and six grandchildren; Danny Oxsheer, Jessie, Wyatt, Josie, Sarah, and Garrett, Carr. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday September 7, 2011 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday September 6, at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home Pleasanton, Kansas, Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery at Mound City, Kansas.The family suggests contributions to the Jim Carr Grandchildren Trust Fund C/O Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home P.O.
