Jerome Michael Welch

Jerome M. Welch, age 83 of Mound City, Kansas passed away at his home on Saturday, October 28, 2023.  He was born on February 11, 1940 in Neola, Iowa the son of Donald and Ida (Grace) Welch.  He married the love of his life, Katherine Dofner on October 8, 1961 at Council Bluffs, Iowa.  Jerome was a diesel mechanic of heavy equipment by trade and would work several hours a week.  He enjoyed bowling, gambling, horse and dog racing, snagging spoonbill, dancing, the Chicago Cubs and the Nebraska Cornhuskers, but most of all he enjoyed attending all of the athletic events of his kids and grandkids.  Jerome was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.  Jerome is survived by his wife, Katherine, four daughters, Sherry and Eddie Kaufman, Suzann and Sam Keegan, Shelly and Ken Blair and Sally Jo and Scott Madsen, one son, Fred and Teri Welch, one brother, Jim Welch, two sisters, Suzan Smith and Helen Blakely, twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren with number thirteen on the way.
