Jeffrey Scott Cannon, 48, of Prescott, Kansas, died Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas. He was born February 8, 1963 in Fort Scott, Kansas, the son of Perry Norman and Karan Lou Brown Cannon. Jeff graduated from Jayhawk Linn High School in 1981. He graduated from Pittsburg State University in 1985 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Accounting. He was employed as a Data Transcriber Manager for the IRS Department of Treasury. Jeff was known by several nicknames, including "Giggles", "Toad" and "Super T". He enjoyed softball, bowling, throwing darts, dancing, fishing and shooting clay pigeons. He was preceded in death by his father, Perry Norman Cannon; his brother, Terry Cannon and a nephew, Heath Cannon. Survivors include his mother, Karan Lou Cannon of Prescott, Kansas; two brothers, Delbert Cannon & wife, Susan and Perry Cannon & wife, Pam, all of Prescott, Kansas; two sisters, Deb Cannon Cougill of Smithville, Missouri and Gail Crooks of Ottawa, Kansas. Nephews; Jason Crooks, Dustin Cannon, Perry Lyle Cougill, Austin Cannon Miles, Chris Cougill, Josh Cougill, Chase Cannon, and Tyler Cannon Miles; two nieces, Jenny Loden and Alexis Cannon; three great nephews, two great nieces, the Miles Family of Basehor, Kansas, and many friends and relatives. Jeff was a happy person and he enjoyed life. He loved his nieces and nephews and was a great uncle. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Tuesday, at the chapel. Contributions are suggested to the Jeff Cannon Memorial Fund. Interment will be in the Prescott Cemetery.
